This is one of my favorite necklaces I’ve ever made!
Hand sanded dentallium shells
Opalite beads
Brass cones
18k gold plated crystal star charms
Cornbeads/ Job’s tears grown in Cherokee, NC by Cherokee people. This plant has been beloved by my community for some time now. As with other Indigenous peoples in the Americas, my tribe had encountered this plant in the early years of contact with Spanish colonists. These beads were strung into Catholic rosaries, my tribe has embraced and used this plant since.
Freshwater pearls
Mother of pearl commercial carved shell
Synthetic silk ties
Choker length with generous ties allowing for a looser fit
